Let the voting commence!
August 30th, 2007 – by hscatamacchiaWe are working on the next release of TS, and have been scouring through your comments for ideas on what to fix, add, or change about TS. There are so many, but a couple big ones we’ve heard from a lot of folks (and will definitely be in this release):
- “Figure out a way for TS to use less of my CPU” / “it takes too long to save a TS”
- “Let me choose the sites I don’t want TS to record”
So here’s your chance, vote for the feature(s) you think should be in the next release - and tell us why:
- Annotation - write extra details about the pages in your TS
- Customized order - change the order of the pages, drag & drop maybe?
- Menu bar - reduce the size of the buttons on the menu bar
- Navigation - get rid of the arrow buttons, just use mouse or bottom bar to scroll
- Plug-ins - let me show my TS in different places… Facebook app, Blog This button, others?
- Website - make it easier to share my TS and check out what other people have posted
- Customized preferences - let me set how I want TS to start up and work
- Customized look - let me choose a different look & feel for my TS
- Docking toolbar - let me move the whole viewer
- History - tie TS to my history, and the history preferences
- Other - don’t see the one change you really want… what is it?
Vote for as many or as few options as you’d like. Comment here on this blog, or over in the forum post - and remember, the feature with the most votes will be included in the next version of ThumbStrips.

It should have a manual button combo to reveal or close the thumbstrips bar

Is Intuit working on a widget for time tracking on mac?

I’m using the iFox Graphite Theme for Firefox and ThumbStrips doesn’t seem to like it, the text for the buttons are almost impossible to read. Other than that, it looks a good tool. Thanks

James - I know that ThumbStrips has some issues working with all the great themes that people have developped. We hope to add some form of customization at a later date.
Jillian - I would love to hear more about your line of work. We always want to chat with customers about how ThumbStrips can be both cool AND useful
Feel free to email us at innovation@intuit.com

Great extension! Would be a lot better if the history didn’t keep erasing itself.

Very Nice Add-On, I would like it how ever if I could have the option to only show the thumbs history for the current tab I am look at or if I am looking at a tab and the thumbnail I click on was opened on a diffrent tab it jumps automatically to the tab it was opened on.

the titling of the thumbs seems to get confused and when i close one of the thumbs with a right click it all seems to get really confused

I really enjoy using thumbstrips, however it would be nice if I could set how the pages opened (ie… new tab). Thanks so much for making this and keep up the good work!

Angel - You can open a thumnail to a new tab by clicking your mouse wheel on an image in your ThumbStrips viewer. You can also click both buttons (left and right) at once and the page will open in a new tab.

man…… u rock…….
but my using the thumstrips is seriously limited by the fact that i have to go and click on the small icon to let it bring up the strip.
i cant too put it up coz….. it takes up valuable screen space…..
so u come up with sum ting for this. we love u….
shall i suggest …
may be a hotkey… (choose spacebar if possible)
or may be a hover zone….
or may be a mouse gesture (compatible with firegestures will be good)
thank u for reading!

Definitely I’d love it if I could position the thumbstrip viewer in different places, like on the side, scrolling up and down instead of side to side. That way, instead of taking up valuable space on the bottom of my widescreen monitor, I can use the plentiful sides for this great tool. Thanks

Hi,
does TS autosave everything ? If not could you add that ?
also TS should def be part of the history, its great !

great piece of software… definitely one of the most useful addons for firefox. could you maybe add an option not to record when writing messages in a board, blog etc.? the shown text on the screen stops regularily and lags significantly behind what i m typing, probably due to frequent recording. on the other hand if i set the option to “take snapshots less frequently” it records only every couple of minutes… at least thats my impression. btw: the block-this-site-option does not seem to work with ff rc 1. even though i select to block a certain site, i will not show on the list nor block it as it should.
otherwise great program, keep it up!

How about an option that will minimize Thumbstrips when you click on a page?
Great add-on.

Thanks Michael, I will add that to the list! Enjoy thumbstrips!

I really like this idea! I think you should make it so if you drag your mouse over the site in the strip it shows you an enlarged version of the picture. That way you can be sure you are clicking on the site you want. I would also make the black area above the strip look more finished. The whole strip could use a bit of body work. Great product!

Thanks for the great feedback David! We will look at it for the next release.

Can we clear history when we do a global firefox - Clear Private Data ?
Although I’m finding it useful to check what my kids have been looking at !

Sorry Stephen,
We do not have ThumbStrips tied to the firefox clear public data, so you will have to that manually. We have it on a to-do list for the next release. So to fully clear the thumbstrip you just have to go to the directory check here and delete the strip. Thanks!
