What is it?
A Firefox extension that creates a filmstrip of thumbnails – – ThumbStrip, get it? – – so you can see your history, and stop guessing at page names in the history sidebar. You can even share your ThumbStrips!
How do I install it?
It installs like any other Firefox extension – – you just need to accept the EULA first. (If you aren’t familiar with Firefox extensions, just click the link, then click “install now” when it appears. Installations take a few seconds, then restart Firefox to get going.)
How do I start using it?
The ThumbStrips icon will automagically appear in your toolbar. Click it to view your ThumbStrip, right-click to start and stop recording.
How do I get rid of it?
It uninstalls just like other extensions. Go to Tool > Add-ons, select ThumbStrips, and then click Uninstall. Restarting Firefox then removes it.
How do I get help for it?

I hate “Oops” because it is almost always preventable with good planning which means that didn’t happen. We recently moved IntuitLabs.com (where ThumbStrips is hosted) to another hosting company. The move went very smoothly, so smoothly that I did not fully test every feature of ThumbStrips including sharing. Sharing was our attempt to give users a place to upload their ThumbStrips and find others to download. In the more than 12 months that we implemented this feature we only had a few dozen uploaded and most of those were our own tests. This tells me that either we went after something you didn’t really need/want OR we found the right problem but didn’t solve it well enough.
Either way it is not working anymore. We did a preliminary analysis and found that there is a database configuration issue that will take some time to fix. Given our priorities I am not sure when or if we will be able to fix it. I am sorry for those few that did give it a shot, and feel free to let me know how we could improve that feature.
So when you go to the Configure -> Save/Share menu you can ignore the checkboxes for “Share this ThumbStrip” and “Email this ThumbStrip”. To email a ThumbStrip, just save it to your computer and email the .film file.
Thank you for understanding,
Jonathan
